Zero Dreams - Series 3 Announcement
Films all about dreaming for the next series running October-December
Well here we are for the 3rd installment and closing out the year, it’s been a blast and thanks to all those that have come along, we are very much thinking it will continue into the new year especially if attendence keeps up its consistancy. The third series is a collection of films about dreams and dreaming. The screenings will take place first Sunday of the month upstairs at Creature, 140 Lygon St, Brunswick East.
Only members can access the screenings. We are non-profit and membership fees go directly to paying for screening rights. Signup now.
THE SCREENINGS
OCTOBER - Dreams (1990)
An anthology film from memories of some of Kurosawa's dreams. Featuring stunning visuals it has a wild array of involvement from some of the all time great directors with help from Spielberg to get the distribution, Martin Scorsese playing Vincent Van Gough and Ishiro Honda (Godzilla) collaborating as creative consultant it maybe has the most auteur hands in one movie pie that I have ever heard. This one has been on the list for.a while so can't wait to see it with you. Get down early for a special short screening and pre-show material (from around 4:30pm).

~HALLOWEEN SPECIAL~ NOVEMBER - Prince of Darkness (1987)
Fitting into Creature’s own Halloween week celebrations we are capping it off with a screening of the satan in liquid form John Carpenter film Prince of Darkness. A Catholic priest invites a quantum physicist and his students to join him in the basement, belonging to "The Brotherhood of Sleep", an old order who communicate through dreams. The priest requires their assistance in investigating a mysterious cylinder containing a swirling green liquid.

December - Paprika (2006)
The quintessential dream film, the inspiration for Inception and one of Satoshi Kon’s most enduring works. I remember when I first saw this I actually felt like it had catured moments from a dream I remember as a child and it kind of flipped me out and haven’t seen it since. Lets Gooooo!

Dreamscape (1984)
Denis Quaid in a somewhat Nightmare on Elm Street type sci-fi horror adventure. A man who can enter and manipulate people's dreams is recruited by a government agency to help cure the President of the United States of his nightmares about nuclear war but stumbles upon an assassination plot. Runtime 99min.
